Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to honor the founder of The O’Hara Project, a marketing and PR firm Katherine Machado-O’Hara as a Latina of Influence. Ms. Machado-O’Hara will be recognized for her leadership in our community during Hispanic Lifestyle’s Connecting Latinas of Influence | New Jersey to be held on September 26, 2024.

Katherine Machado-O’Hara is the founder of The O’Hara Project, a marketing and PR firm based in Morristown, NJ. Under her leadership, the firm has flourished, serving a diverse clientele that includes emerging startups, Fortune 500 corporations, and nonprofit organizations. The team is regularly tapped to support international, national, and regional campaigns for well-known brands like Bayer, Diageo, and Microsoft.

Her 30-year career has earned her nearly 300 awards, including being named Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Businesswoman of the Year, one of the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs, induction into The New York Creative Hall of Fame, and recognition by Penn State University with the 2022 Alumni Award for her career achievements. Additionally, she is frequently tapped as an industry expert by outlets like MSN, AMEX OPEN Forum, CBS, and Success Magazine.

Katherine’s upbringing as the daughter of Cuban exiles instilled her with a profound sense of the importance of social support. Inspired by her family’s experiences, she has instilled a commitment to social good at the core of The O’Hara Project’s ethos. The firm dedicates over $120,000 in pro bono services annually, with total donated services exceeding $1.5 million to date. Additionally, Katherine has championed causes such as disabled veterans’ support, youth services, literacy programs, and safe water initiatives through her firm’s philanthropic endeavors.

A graduate of Penn State University with a BA in Graphic Design, Katherine further honed her skills by obtaining an MBA from NYIT in 2006. She also sits on the Alumni Board for Penn State’s College of Arts and Architecture.

Today, she resides in New Jersey with her family and three beloved but poorly trained dogs and believes that her mother’s flan recipe is the secret to world peace
