Latina expanding educational opportunities in North Philadelphia
Damaris Alvardo-Rodriguez, owner of two Children’s Playhouse Early Learning Centers in South Philadelphia, is excited to announce the grand opening of an expansion site in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia. Children’s Playhouse Fairhill, located at 3169 N. 5th Street, Philadelphia, PA 19133, will offer diverse, holistic, inclusive, educational care to children ages six weeks to five years. It will open officially on September 3rd, 2024.
CEO and Founder Damaris Alvarado-Rodriguez expressed her enthusiasm about expanding educational opportunities in North Philadelphia, “We are excited to bring high-quality accredited programming with numerous comprehensive support systems to North Philadelphia, building on the success we’ve had in South Philadelphia.”
Children’s Playhouse Fairhill promises to deliver the same high-quality early childhood education and care to the community. An accredited program that is four-time awardee of the Reinvestment Fund For Quality Expansion, it will feature a bilingual program, aimed at fostering strong family partnerships and providing top-notch care and education to children from diverse backgrounds. Suzanna Rincon, with over five years of experience, will serve as the Director and is eager to continue to serve this community.
Children’s Playhouse Early Learning Center exists to provide a safe, developmentally appropriate, diverse and inclusive early learning center that supports children of all abilities, culture, and language, and families of all income levels. Children’s Playhouse Fairhill will feature all of their outstanding programs including low teacher/child ratios, activities based on children’s interest and individual developmental needs, theme based emergent curriculum aligned with the PA Early Learning Standards, opportunities for curiosity, discovery and exploration, introduction to ASL and Spanish, integrated technology in the classroom, dance, music therapy, and curriculum aligned with social emotional and academic state standards to prepare children for a successful kindergarten transition, and so much more. All of the programs are designed to prepare the students for future success in school and life.
Children’s Playhouse Fairhill will offer Early Head Start programming for children from 0 to three years old, with funding approved through various streams, ensuring accessibility and affordability for families in the region. Additionally, Head Start programs will also cater to children aged three to five years old, offering a seamless educational transition from infancy through early childhood.
