Latino Institute for Corporate Inclusion

Hispanic Lifestyle attended a gathering of Latino community leaders and advocates that was organized by the Latino Institute for Corporate Inclusion. The discussion topic was the inclusion of Latinos on corporate boards.

We were introduced to the organization hosting the event by their president and CEO, Mr. Ruben Jauregui.

In attendance was Victor Acevedo, president of the Mexican American Bar Association of Los Angeles who spoke about the organization and their mission.

Supporting the event with his attendance was Orson Aguilar Executive Director with The Greenlining Institute. Mr. Aguilar talked the collaboration among like minded organizations.

One of the featured speakers was Tom Castro who is a board member for Time Warner Cable, Inc. Mr. Castro provided his perspective on the telecommunications industry.

Mr. Castro went on to talk about what the future might look like for content producers of digital technology.

Hispanic Lifestyle changed venues and headed over to La Plaza and spoke with retired California State senator Richard Polanco.  The former head of the Latino Legislative Caucus spoke about his latest projects.

Given the state of our economy, I asked the former senator about the good old days when he was serving the state legislature.

I asked Mr. Polanco what big picture projects the state should be focusing on in the future.

Since we were at La Plaza, I asked Mr. Polanco his thoughts on the importance of corporate community partnerships.

We then had a chance to speak with Pepsico Executive Mr. Richard Montanez about their support of La Plaza.
