  • According to the U.S. Census Bureau’s American Community Survey population estimates, in 2022 almost 65.3 million Latinos lived in the United States and Puerto Rico, representing 19.5 % of the total U.S. population. 
  • The Hispanic population has grown faster than  the nation’s overall growth rate
  • The majority of Hispanics in the United States are of Mexican origin.
  • Newborns, not immigrants, have been the primary drivers of the recent growth in the Hispanic population.
  • FYI . . . The U.S. Census Bureau defines “Hispanic or Latino” as someone of Cuban, Mexican, Puerto Rican, South or Central American, or other Spanish culture or origin, regardless of race.

FACTS – Did You Know? 

Hispanic homeownership rate is closed to 50 percent, a key milestone. According to a report published by the National Association of Hispanic    Real Estate Professionals, in 2023, the Home ownership rate for Latinos reached 49.5 percent, the largest increase in homeownership rate across racial or ethnic demographic groups compared to the year prior.
