SPOTLIGHT | Congressional Leadership
The 118th United States Congress concluded its term on January 3, 2025. During this period, approximately 49 Latinos, representing 12 states, were seated in Congress. At that time, the breakdown was six U.S. Senators and 43 Congressional members.
Latino numbers in congress have increased dramatically since 1950 going from one to 49.

INSIGHTS – Wealth
- The total economic output, or gross domestic product, of Latinos in the U.S. reached $3.7 trillion in 2022
- According to a report produced by the UCLA Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture U.S. Latino GDP grew faster than the GDP of any of the world’s top 10 economies, including China and India.
- U.S. Latino GDP has been the third-fastest-growing overall since 2010.
