2017 Latina of Influence | Anna Sauceda
Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize the President of Associated Construction Services Group and Community Supporter Ms. Anna Sauceda as a 2017 Latina of Influence.
As President of Associated Construction Services Group Anna Sauceda has always known owning a successful small business comes with an enormous amount of responsibility to others. She and her husband, Darrel have propelled their small residential construction company to a multimillion dollar government and commercial construction company. Together they inspire a dedicated team of talented individuals who demonstrate the virtues of Commitment, Integrity and Loyalty in all the work they perform, the same virtues that Anna possesses in her personal life, she instills and practices in business. Throughout her career, whether in the community or corporate America she has always had a deep rooted passion for helping others and plays an active role in creating positive transformation in the communities where she lives and works.
Awarded a small business weatherization contract through the Gas Company, ACS Group is most proud of having the opportunity, for the past 5 years, to employ an additional 40 individuals who are trained to perform energy efficient measures on thousands of residents in the surrounding communities. Three of Anna’s adult children are an integral part of ACS GROUP and assist in the management of the contract.
For over 4 years Anna served on the California Hispanic Chambers of Commerce Board (CHCC) and was Chair of the CHCC Foundation Board. She has been committed to increasing Latina participation on the Board and in Membership Programs as part of the Latina Initiative.
She Co -Chaired the CHCC Convention for 2 years when it was hosted by the Southern Region and was instrumental in the Creation of Latina Empresaria Day which brought together over 500 Women for a day of celebration and business education. Her commitment to woman continues as she shares her talents and resources. Anna mentors other Latina business owners by helping them build and flourish their businesses based on a solid foundation of hard work, good practices and a network of resources.
Her professional career spans over 3 decades performing in very diverse rolls. For 6 years she taught Pre School, Kindergarten and First Grade. She was then sought out by the Weingart East Los Angeles YMCA to develop Child Care Programs which led her to being selected as the first Latina in California to become an executive of a YCMA. After 10 years of service to the YMCA, she was then recruited by TELACU to become Vice-President of the TELACU Education Foundation. Her expertise in Fundraising and Program Management propelled the Foundation to new heights for the next 5 years.
In 2005 Anna and her husband Darrel made the decision to open their own Construction Company, ACS GROUP and are still the operating partners today.
With a family of 5 adult children and 10 grandchildren Anna and Darrel are living a full life. She stays grounded and true to herself by always acknowledging that it is only by GOD’s Grace that she has been given so many valuable opportunities to do her best in life and in business, always allowing her Blessings to shine through her good works.
She has been active on a number of Boards, Committees and Commissions throughout California including:
