Latina Lawyers Bar Association | Cinthia Flores

Hispanic Lifestyle debuts new look with a profile on Latina Lawyers Bar Association president, Cinthia Flores. 

Recorded on location at  the 32nd Annual Mexican American Bar Foundation Scholarship Gala we spoke with past MABF scholarship recipient Cinthia Flores.  During conversation with Ms. Flores, she spoke about her career and the mission of the Latina Lawyers Bar Association.

Professional Background
Cinthia Flores is a Board Member with the California Agricultural Labor Relations Board.  Governor Newsom appointed her to this position in 2020. Cinthia formerly served as a Staff Attorney with the Coalition for Humane Immigration (CHIRLA) where she practiced immigration law with a focus on removal defense. Cinthia also has a background in labor law having represented private and public sector unions. Additionally, Cinthia serves on the board of the Latina Lead California, an organization dedicated to supporting Latinas in politics.

Cinthia earned her Juris Doctorate at the University of California, Irvine School of Law. During law school, Cinthia served as a Regent on the University of California Board of Regents. Cinthia earned her B.A. in Political Science at UCLA, where she served as the first Latina undergraduate student body president. Cinthia is an alumna of the Front Line Leaders Academy and the New American Leaders Project – electoral campaign leadership development programs focused on training progressive and immigrant communities to run for office. Cinthia was born, raised, and resides in Los Angeles, CA.

According to the Latina Lawyers Bar Association website, “Our vision for LLBA is that of a home for all Latinas at every stage of their legal career. We are committed to increasing our support for law students with much needed scholarships and to continuing LLBA’s excellent mentoring programs for new attorneys. We seek to further the diversity of our membership, bringing together attorneys from all levels of seniority, backgrounds and areas of practice, and to partner with other bar and professional associations, to provide a rich network of resources for Latinas. We hope that LLBA will encourage and challenge Latinas to share their successes with their communities, continuously giving back to those who follow them and those who need their help.”
