2020 Latina of Influence | Christina Granillo Ph.D
Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize Director of Academic Success at UC Riverside, Christina Granillo Ph.D as a 2020 Latina of Influence. Ms. Granillo along with our entire list of 2020 Latinas of Influence are invited to participate in Latina Conference taking place June 2, 2020 in Ontario, California.
Dr. Christina Granillo Ph.D was born in San Bernardino and graduated from Colton High School. She received her Baccalaureate degree from the University of California at Riverside, her Masters of Arts in Psychology and her Doctorate in Psychology from Claremont Graduate University. Her focus was on the language brokering that children of spanish speaking parents must do to support their parents and many times the family.
Current Director of Academic Success at UC Riverside School of Medicine. Dr. Granillo provides support to UCR medical students in all areas of academic preparation across their four years. She assists students in preparation for both licensing boards (Step 1, Step 2 CK and CS) and coursework. Specifically programming review programs, meeting with students individually to create customized study schedules, work with students individually to interpret and plan for study based on practice exam results (e.g. Comprehensive Basic Science Exam). Dr. Granillo oversees the Supplemental Instructor Program that provides medical students peer-peer tutoring in their didactic and anatomy coursework. She has also developed a Step Coaching Programs that provides peer-peer support for students preparing for the licensing boards.
Additionally Dr. Granillo works on various committees on curriculum development and implementation as well as assisting with the UCR School of Medicine Pipeline programs and executing their evaluation plans.
