Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to recognize Founder & Principal Agency M Media, Marcie Perez as a 2020 Latina of Influence. Ms. Perez along with our entire list of 2020 Latinas of Influence are invited to participate in Latina Conference taking place June 2, 2020 in Ontario, California.
An energetic PR enthusiast with nearly 20 years of experience, Marcie has a proven track record for developing communications campaigns for non-profit organizations, foundations, public/private partnerships, local government, and leading consumer brands. Ms. Perez leads strategy and client services for Agency M Media; a public relations and marketing communications consultancy offering expertise integrated marketing, digital media, event planning, and multicultural communication services.
For the past three years, she spearheaded the rebrand, marketing communications and PR strategy for Free Tax Prep Los Angeles, a public/private partnership endorsed by the County and City of Los Angeles, Citi Community Development, elected officials and local nonprofits. Additionally, she has been hired by the County and City of Los Angeles to develop and implement special events supporting economic development and workforce initiatives targeting underserved multicultural groups with emphasis on Hispanic and Latinx communities.
In 2016, she worked with Mayor Garcetti’s Office of Immigrant Affairs (MOIA) leading and executing a multilingual ‘get out the vote’ campaign promoting the City’s Step Forward LA Initiative to encourage citizenship and civic engagement in partnership with grassroots and non-profit organizations including the League of Women Voters Los Angeles, NALEO and Mi Familia Vota. Her work with MOIA awarded her the opportunity to lead ‘Tu Vota es Cosa Seria,’ a civic engagement campaign endorsed by Mayor Garcetti, actor/activist Edward James Olmos, community leaders and elected officials. This year, she will lead Census 2020 outreach efforts across Southern California.
Career highlights include national PR agencies and in-house corporate communications experience that provided the opportunity to develop integrated marketing skills across PR, advertising, event production, promotions, and social media. Her PR and marketing savvy coupled with her radio, television and print media experience as on-air and staff talent, gives Marcie valuable insight into what consumer stakeholders want and what media and influencer platforms need for inspired content engagement.
Always one to follow her passions, Marcie has provided pro-bono brand marketing and media relations counsel to Shoes That Fit, a national non-profit with a mission to provide new shoes to children in need; Girltopia; a tween/teen girl empowerment summit hosted by the Girls Scouts of Greater Los Angeles; and to the California Chicano News Media Association, a non-profit, professional organization that aims to promote diversity in the news media. She has volunteered her time to the CSUF Latino Communications Institute, Big Sunday, Dress for Success, and the Midnight Mission. She serves on the NAMIC Board (National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications); a nonprofit dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in the communications industry.
In addition to her Bachelor’s degree in communications from California State University, Fullerton, Marcie earned a Master’s of Science in Business Management & Leadership at the University of La Verne. Her thesis study, Personal Training for Personal Mastery: Executive Coaching for the C-Suite, was influenced by her passion for leadership development books.
