Ms. Navarro along with our entire list of 2019 Latinas of Influence are invited to participate in Latina Conference 2019 taking place April 10 and 11, 2019 in Ontario, California.
With an academic and professional career in technology and management that spans over three decades, Denise Navarro has established herself as a respected business leader within the national federal government sector, and within area communities.
After earning an associated in applied science (AAS) in computer data processing from College of the Mainland in Texas City, Texas, followed by a bachelor of arts (BA) in computer information systems and a master of business administration (MBA), both from the University of Houston – Clear Lake in Houston, Texas, Denise dedicated herself to a career that began in 1984 supporting the federal government and commercial industries, before launching Logical Innovations, Inc. in November, 2006.
Logical Innovations, Inc. has provided technical, business, and administrative services for the federal government since 2006. Logical Innovations’ current and past federal clients include NASA at Ames Research Center (ARC), Armstrong Flight Research Center (AFRC), Glenn Research Center (GRC), Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), Headquarters (HQ), Johnson Space Center (JSC), Kennedy Space Center (KSC), Marshall Space Flight Center (MSFC), and Stennis Space Center (SSC); the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the Department of Interior – National Parks Service; the Department of Commerce – U.S. Census Bureau; the Department of Defense – U.S. Army and SPAWAR; and Department of Homeland Security – Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA); and the Department of Transportation at Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). As a testimony to her efforts, Denise was honored as Distinguished Alumna in 2017 by UHCL, with an Entrepreneurial Lifetime Achievement Award by the Houston Technology Center in 2017, named Small Business Person of the Year in 2016 by the U.S. Small Business Administration – Houston District, and Distinguished Alumna in 2016 by College of the Mainland.
Further, Denise is committed to ensuring future generations have opportunities to achieve their goals and dreams. Her vision led to the establishment of The Logical Innovations Scholarship with the College of the Mainland Foundation in 2012, and in 2016, The Logical Innovations Hawk Advantage Scholarship with University of Houston – Clear Lake. Additionally, in 2018, Logical Innovations committed to an endowed scholarship with the COM Foundation and an endowed STEM scholarship in conjunction with a grant from the Department of Education with University of Houston – Clear Lake.
Denise reaches out to mentor and support other growing small companies, to assist with their development in sharing lessons learned, partnering, and providing guidance/advice. One aspect of her mentoring has been in the development of joint ventures, where she can share corporate experience in securing federal contracts with other companies, while introducing them to new markets and customer bases.
She is an active member of her communities, participating in events/speaking engagements for the Small Business Administration; speaking with area students in sharing her story; serving on the College of the Mainland Foundation Board, University of Houston – Clear Lake industry advisory board for the College of Science and Engineering, University of Houston – Clear Lake Campaign Leadership Cabinet, various small business councils throughout NASA at various NASA Centers and NASA Headquarters, and on the Bay Area Houston Economic Partnership Board of Directors.
