Raquel Rivera-Angwenyi | 2023 Latina of Influence
We are pleased to announce that Raquel Rivera-Angwenyi, CEO, stylist, and owner of Afro Latina Fashion Boutique, has been selected as a Hispanic Lifestyle 2023 Latina of Influence. Ms. Rivera-Angwenyi will be recognized for her leadership in our community during Hispanic Lifestyle’s Connecting Latinas of Influence – Dallas/Fort Worth event on October 11, 2023.
Raquel Rivera-Angwenyi is a dynamic CEO of Diamond Color Studio, The Stylist of Afro Latina Fashion Boutique. She’s also the founder of Made for God non profit where she helps women and girls to start and grow their own business. Currently she holds the title of Mrs. Arlington Texas International 2023, and will be representing the state of texas as a Mrs. Woman Entrepreneur Texas International 2024.
With over 18 years of experience as a celebrity photographer, artist and creative director, Raquel combines her passion for Art, Culture, and Ministry to help individuals look and feel their best, both personally and professionally.
Specializing in portraits, fashion, headshots, branding, and event photography, she excels at creating enduring branding images that her clients cherish. Beyond her professional achievements, Raquel is a dedicated mother to three young children and a proud Veteran wife of the air force.
She leverages her platform to support women and girls through Made for God, offering training opportunities and empowerment events. Raquel holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Advertising from University APEC and a Certificate of Biblical Studies from Christ for the Nations Dallas Institute.
As an American citizen and advocate, Raquel encourages civic engagement and celebrates the achievements of immigrants, particularly those of color, highlighting their beauty, resilience, and excellence.
She is currently working on her upcoming Photo Art exhibition, “Meeting Motherland,” featuring portraits of families and showcasing jewelry and blankets from the Masai tribe in Kenya, a testament to their enduring heritage. This exhibition reflects Raquel’s personal journey of identity and her commitment to purposeful growth.
She believes there is Diamond in our cities and all around us and that There is greatness around us and All the opportunities you could possibly want can be found where you are now.

As a photographer and artist she sees the beauty in all women and actively participates in opportunities to empower women entrepreneurs. Her passion for providing Latinas opportunities to grow and succeed motivated her to help organize events for Latinas to learn about entrepreneurship in Spanish. She also seeks to promote Afro-Latina contributions to our community.
