Elizabeth De Razzo stars in the role of Maria on the popular HBO comedy, EASTBOUND & DOWN. Maria’s inability to speak English has not deterred show fans from making her a favorite character, a tribute to great writing and De Razzo’s acting abilities.
A native of Laredo, Texas De Razzo knew that she was destined for Hollywood. As a young girl, she jumped on a bus to be an extra on The X-Files unbeknownst to her mother. After spending the day watching the magic, happen, she was hooked.
Upon relocating to Los Angeles, De Razzo began dividing her time between theater work and television. On the stage, she played the role of Stella in a musical version of REAL WOMEN HAVE CURVES. Soon television roles followed on hit shows like ER, COLD CASE, SIX FEET UNDER, THE UNITED STATES OF TARA and SOUTHLAND.
In addition to her acting career, De Razzo co-founded the non-profit, IBG, Inc. The group focuses on utilizing the power of philanthropy through the arts to benefit a wide range of organizations worldwide. IBG acts as a “fundraiser facilitator” for under-funded and start-up charities that would otherwise struggle with the logistics and costs associated with event fundraising. Inspired by humanitarian contributions throughout the entertainment community, IBG holds events such as plays, concerts, screenings, auctions, et cetera to help raise awareness and funds for selected charities.
