A Great Day at the Big A

A Great Day at the Big A

Opening week for the Los Angeles Angels and Angels Little League® Day

From bumping into a few softball teammates, spending time with family, experiencing a great game, and seeing my grandson throw out the first pitch, yes, it was a great day at Angel Stadium. It had been a few years since we visited the Big A. It was opening week for the Los Angeles Angels and Angels Little League® Day, where players and coaches were invited to participate in an on-field parade.

Thousands of little leaguers and their families were in attendance. Before the game, the players walked around the field in parade style. For many, it was an opportunity to experience what it’s like to step onto a major league field and look up at the stands. Several little leaguers ran out to various positions and got autographs from the Angels players. Others acted as game announcers.

Also, on April 6, 2025, Kenley Jansen recorded his 1,225th career strikeout, which moves him to No. 5 of all time among relief pitchers.

About the Big A
The Big A sign is a 230-foot-tall, 210-ton red metal sign in the shape of the letter “A” with a halo on top (mirroring the Los Angeles Angels logo), situated in the parking lot of Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The halo lights up after every Angels win (regardless of whether it happens at home or on the road).

I love baseball, and this is my favorite time of year.
