SCE, in 2011, spending with diverse business enterprises (DBEs) —woman-, minority-, and service-disabled veteran-owned businesses —reached nearly $1.4 billion. This represents 33.7% of our procurement budget, exceeding the California Public Utilities Commission’s target of 21.5% and our 2010 figure of 27.1%. As we look to the future, supplier diversity continues to be a key corporate goal, and we have set a target of 40% of procurement spending with diverse suppliers by 2016.
An Edison International company, Southern California Edison is one of the nation’s largest electric utilities, serving more than 11 million people via 4.3 million customer accounts within a 50,000-square-mile area within central, coastal and Southern California.
