About Timi Aguilar and Aguilar Public Relation
Timi Aguilar has over twenty years of public relations experience supporting a diverse mix of clients including telecommunications, restaurant service, the banking industry, construction, and non-profits. She started Aguilar Public Relations in January 2005, a firm dedicated to creating and executing strategies that build brands for companies of all sizes. Aguilar Public Relations is a trusted resource for companies across the United States as they reach the audiences most important to building their brand presence.
Throughout her career, Timi has provided strategic PR counsel to executive leadership and managed high profile projects and events for AT&T Investor Relations and Government Affairs. Her extensive project management and video production experience has led her from producing live press conferences out of New York City to producing video and film projects in the U.S., Asia Pacific and Eastern Europe.
In her public affairs role, she has coordinated town hall meetings, press events and communications with the U.S. Administration, members of Congress, state legislators and city government officials in multiple states. She has served as spokesperson and media strategist to her clients across the U.S. with both local and national media expertise, and she is well-versed in crisis communications.
As AT&T’s Western Region director, she implemented AT&T’s corporate communications and public policy initiatives in a 14-state region and coordinated strategic grassroots campaigns. She served as AT&T’s spokesperson, media coordinator, and AT&T Foundation liaison. She created branding and media strategies for McDonald’s USA in a 20-state zone, partnering with local agencies across the U.S.
Timi recently received the Denver Business Journal’s Outstanding Women in Business – Communications, Media and PR Award. She received the Anna Maria Arias Award given to ten U.S. businesses by LATINA Style Magazine. Timi was appointed by Mayor John Hickenlooper to the Denver Office of Strategic Partnerships and served on the Denver Convention 2008 Business Outreach Committee. She is an alumnus of the “50 for Colorado” leadership program through the CU-Boulder School of Leads (1999) and a graduate of AT&T’s Executive Leadership Program (2001). She will attend Tuck Business School’s Entrepreneurship Program this fall (2010). She is a board member of Denver Kids, Inc, and is an emeritus board member of the Latina Chamber.
Timi holds a degree in both Government and Film & Television and from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. Timi is a member of the Castle Pines Chamber, Timber Trail Education Alliance, the Denver Hispanic Chamber, Public Relations Society of America, NALEO, Latina Chamber, The Latina Initiative, El Centro Juan Diego, St. Thomas More Catholic Church and Notre Dame Club of Denver.
