Hispanic Lifestyle is pleased to announced that we will hold our Inaugural Texas event on October 10, 2017 at the Pioneer Event Center in Grand Prairie, Texas. This event is Kicking Off Hispanic Lifestyle’s series to Connect, Inspire and Empower Latino Business and Community Leaders throughout the United States. Our mission since 1997 has been to highlight and recognize the achievements of Latinos and Latinas throughout our national network.
The theme of our first Texas event is Celebrating Latino Professionals in The North Texas Marketplace. Our event has two parts, insightful workshops, followed by a networking mixer. This event is free thanks to our host sponsor COMBINED Insurance for their commitment to celebrate the success of Latinos during Hispanic Heritage Month. Richard Sandoval is the President of Hispanic Lifestyle an independently produced television program and website hispaniclifestyle.com. The brand Hispanic Lifestyle has been promoting positive images of the Latino community for over 20 years. Hispanic Lifestyle’s award winning content has featured segments on business owners & professionals, community leaders, elected officials, entertainers and non profit-community based organizations. Mr. Sandoval has produced over 95 events that have highlighted the achievements of Latinos business professionals and community leaders. Hispanic Lifestyle’s annual signature productions include a Latina Conference, SoCal Business Expo and Conference and the Women Business & Wellness Conference. A 23 year Hispanic marketing expert, Mr. Sandoval is a two time Small Business Administration (SBA) Award winner and has been recognized by the numerous community, state and federal organizations throughout his career for connecting, inspiring and empowering community and business leaders.

Carolina Amaya comes with a wide array of experience all across Information Technology, from IBM, Citrix, Quest Software/Dell, EMC to Oracle and Microsoft involved in sales, consulting and channel sales leadership. In her tenure, she has impacted sales revenue growth of over $200,000,000. Carolina was born in Bogota Colombia migrated to the US 34 years ago. She has spent the past 15 years in technology, specifically targeting technology innovation, transformation and evangelizing the cloud. While she began her career in HR sales, and later transitioned to channel sales management, her true passion has always been in technology, so she positioned her career into software, enterprise, mid-market, networking/HW, CRM/EPR, consulting, project management and the cloud. Her breadth of experience ranges from mid-market to large enterprise clients, including Bank of America, Citco, Carnival Cruise Lines, Norwegian Cruise Lines, Berkshire Hathaway, as well as many others. Over the course of the years, Carolina has worked closely with organizations across virtually every industry and market segment ranging from applications to storage; specifically targeting line of business to C-level executives.
Her motto is if she is not making a positive impact in an account, with her customers, team and piers she is not doing what she was created to do, which is to create a dynamic environment, to create best practices that will help drive towards becoming a top performing team in sales/presales performance. In her spare time Carolina enjoys family, ministry, volunteering with her husband Edward. They have four children and one grandchild. She is also actively involved in leadership coaching and mentoring women in minority and diversity programs across the US and Latin America. Melissa Tate is the Producer and client project manager for the Nathan Lawrence Group, a family owned video production based in Dallas for over 13 years. A graduate of Old Dominion University in Virginia, Ms. Tate has over 15 years of experience in a variety of areas related to video production, including script writing for a children’s cartoon featured on the Smile Of A Child Network and content producing for a national religious broadcast. Ms. Tate also oversees Melimagine Productions a division of the Nathan Lawrence Group whose focus is providing quality positive and faith- based youth entertainment. Her flagship project is an action-adventure faith-based audio series for young tweens and teens titled “The Crew”, which is currently in development.

Talent and media works included but not limited to Selena, Oscar D’Leon, Brian McKnight, SWV, Havana NRG!, Grupo Niche, Tito Puente, Tito Puente Jr., Celia Cruz, Run DMC, Cypress Hill, Nia Long, Fat Joe, Notorious B.I.G., Chayanne, Luis Enrique, Stevie B., TKA and many more spanning several decades. Other notable work in the area of talent includes a major principal role in the Universal Pictures release “The Island” (circa 1980). From the early 1980’s Rikki worked marketing concepts/music programming with radio properties KNON 89.3FM, 100.3 KJMZ, K-104FM, KICK 99.1FM, KHYI-Y95 and after many years Rikki broke away from the music to focus on public relations. Rikki’s career has allowed him to become a specialist the art of media relations, digital strategies and managing the brands of his clients via the digital space. In this role, I Coordinate, Develop and Manage a Team of Professional Combined Ins. Agents, that provide supplemental insurance to the Hispanic/Latino Community. I am a big believer in helping to serve the Hispanic/Latino Community and help bring information and education to the uninsured.
Before joining Combined, in 2016, I worked for Aflac for 12 years as a District Sales Coordinator. I managed and developed agents to help companies understand and provided supplemental benefits to employees through payroll deductions. I developed the passion to help the Hispanic/Latino Employees and Community when I joined Aflac and now I am taking it to a higher level. My goal is to serve the Hispanic/Latino Community and help them understand insurance benefits.

Dr. Patty Garcia serves as the Vice President of Programs and Operations for the Latino Center for Leadership Development (LCLD), where she leads the implementation of the organization’s strategic plan. Previously, she served as the Deputy Director of Constituency Services for Education with NALEO Educational Fund, where she managed and carried-out national, state, and local relations and efforts with elected and appointed officials, philanthropic partners, and stakeholders. She has a vast experience creating professional development opportunities for Latino/a elected and appointed officials across jurisdictional and partisan lines. Her expertise ranges around core governance skills, education policies from birth to postsecondary education and the workforce, civic engagement, as well as other key issues impacting the success and development of the Latino community. Prior to that, she was NALEO Educational Fund’s Data and Campaigns Manager, charged with implementing the organization’s data-driven civic engagement projects—primarily its GOTV voter education and participation efforts. Dr. Garcia’s experience spans from direct student mobilization, community outreach, programmatic and policy assessment and evaluation. Dr. Garcia earned her doctoral degree in Educational Policy Studies with a concentration in Latina/o Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2011.

Welcome to Texas by District 107 State Representative – Victoria Neave
Bio - Texas State Representative Victoria Neave
Victoria Neave represents Texas House District 107, which includes parts of Dallas, Mesquite, and Garland. She serves on the House Committee on Judiciary and Civil Jurisprudence and the House Committee on County Affairs. Victoria regularly mentors students and believes that investment in education is one of the most critical issues facing our state. Her priorities are advocating for working families, women, small businesses, and Veterans. Victoria grew up in the barrio in Pleasant Grove in Dallas and comes from a working class family. Her parents emphasized the importance of education and having compassion for others. The daughter of a father with a sixth grade education who had a small TV and VCR repair shop off of Galloway and Town East in Mesquite, Victoria became the first in her family to graduate from college earning her degree in Government and Politics from The University of Texas at Dallas and then graduating magna cum laude in the top 3% of her law school class at Texas Southern University Thurgood Marshall School of Law. Victoria began her legal career as an Attorney in the Complex Commercial Litigation group at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, LLP, one of the top ten law firms in the country. Victoria has been involved in community service throughout her life, and has been recognized for her pro bono work in the legal community. She has led and served on various boards, including serving as Chair of a Chamber of Commerce, served on the Dallas Civil Service Commission, a civil rights advocacy group, organizations serving senior citizens, served as General Counsel to the National Latino Law Enforcement Organization, and as the Board Attorney for the F.L.A.G. Program, which teaches students how to fly, lower, and gather, the American flag. In 2013 Victoria was named Lawyer of the Year by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program and was named a Pro Bono Champion by the Texas Bar Journal. She received the Pro Bono Award, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in 2011 and 2012. She was awarded Lawyer of the Year by the Dallas Volunteer Attorney Program in 2013. She also received the Dallas Hispanic Bar Association Estrella Award in 2013, and was honored as the Access to Justice Pro Bono Champion by the Texas Bar Journal in 2013. Victoria runs her own law firm, where she represents individuals and businesses in civil litigation and employment law.
