Education has always been a priority for Miriam though it has not been easy. Her father always told her that there was nothing more important than education because it is the one thing that no one can take away from you. In spite of many hurdles which included language, being a single parent, and having no access to funding, Miriam eventually overcame these obstacles to become a Harvard trained professional who has a Master of Science in Management with a concentration in Homeland Security. She is also a certified Crisis Response Coordinator (CRC), Certified Homeland Security Level V (CHSV), and Six Sigma Green Belt. In addition, she holds certifications in U.S. FEMA’s National Incident Management System (NIMS) and National Response Framework (NRF).

In addition, Miriam is the founder of M. Power and Associates. As an entrepreneur, she started this coaching organization to teach others how to start their own businesses. Through this organization Ms. Marsh Sifuentes hopes to be able to create other businesses that bring forward empowered leaders, job opportunities, and thriving communities.

I have known Ms. Miriam Marsh Sifuentes for going on 6 years and just watching her interact with her peers, always lifting them up and the most winning personality I have come to experience from someone such as her in a very long time. Miriam has faced many battles, to which she does not use as a crutch, never making excuses, as a matter of fact most do not even know she is a 3 time Cancer survivor, a recent new grandmother and works full time at the Toyota Corporate Headquarters as an Analyst allthewhile working to launch her own new hair industry company.
What strikes me the most is her desire to want other Latinos to grow, to empower them with whatever tools they need to succeed. I nominate Miriam Marsh Sifuentes for this prestigious award.
