Event | Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival
Día de los Muertos is infuse with rich tradition and history, and to celebrate, Oakdale Memorial Park & Mortuary will host the 2nd Annual Día de los Muertos Cultural Festival to honor loved ones who have passed away. The free family event will take place Saturday, November 2, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The festival will feature activities including arts & crafts for children with mini workshops and interactive activities created especially for this event by Corner Art Studio; a food court with delicious selections from L.A.’s food trucks, Papas & Dogs, La Taquiza and Canvas; a local vendor area featuring Día de los Muertos inspired arts and crafts; performances and entertainment including local dance group Ballet Folklórico Casas Guanajuato and the Plaza de la Raza Youth Mariachi ensemble. In addition, families are encouraged to create their own altars and enter the community altar contest. The event will feature a corridor displaying the beautiful altars created for the celebration.
