Julio Reyes Copello Five Latin Grammy Awards Nominations
The Colombian music composer and producer Julio Reyes Copello, tops the nominees this year with 5 nominations for the 14th Annual Latin Grammy Awards including ‘Album of the Year’, ‘Best Engineered Recording For An Album’, ‘Producer of the Year’, and two for ‘Record of the Year’
The successful Colombian music composer and producer Julio Reyes Copello is the top nominee at this years Latin GRAMMY Awards 2013 which will be broadcast on Univision Networks (8pm ET / 7pm Central) on November 21 from the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas, NV. Among the five nominations, Reyes Copello earned his fourth nomination for “Producer of the Year ‘, and is being recognized for his work as producer on albums with Alejandro Sanz, Duina Del Mar, Kany Garcia and Arthur Hanlon & Friends.
In addition to the coveted nomination for “Producer of the Year, Alejandro Sanz album,” La Musica No Se Toca “, which Reyes Copello produced, was nominated for ‘Album of the Year’ and in that same album, the song ” My Marciana ” received a nomination for ‘Record of the Year’. In 2012, Reyes Copello was nominated in the same category for his work as music producer for the song “No Me Compares” ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpUDf_ITZLg ), also by Alejandro Sanz, which this year positioned itself as # 1 in 18 countries.
This year, also for ‘Record of the Year’, the Colombian maestro is nominated for the song “Vivir Mi Vida” by Marc Anthony ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMNPv_HXffQ ), for which he worked as lyrical composer and vocal producer. The song has had a tremendous amount of success, reaching # 1 in the Latin pop charts for the last 20 consecutive weeks.
Finally, Kany García live homonymous album, produced by the Colombian maetro has been nominated for ‘Best Engineered Album For An Album’. The great talent of Julio Reyes Copello has led him to collaborate with other great talent such as Chayanne, Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin, Thalía, Nelly Furtado, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Alejandro Sanz, Diego Torres, Alejandro Fernandez, Florent Pagny, Alexandre Pires among others. His songs and albums have garnered nine Latin Grammy nominations and two American Grammy wins (Best Latin Pop Album’ for the Albums “Amar Sin Mentiras” by Marc Anthony and “Sin Frenos” by La Quinta Estacion). In his successful career he has had 19 number one hits on the Billboard charts and also has numerous international awards, including nine ASCAP Awards.
Reyes Copello has conducted the London Symphony Orchestra on several occasions and has also been the music composer for films by directors Farhad Mann, Levar Burton and the American series “Hawthorne” produced by Jada Pinkett Smith and Will Smith. His most recent work has been as a producer and arranger of the new symphonic album by Belanova, in addition to launching the recording studio Art House Records, a space that has been created to produce the music that he loves.
