RIP Adan Canto | 1981-2024
Canto died of appendix cancer on January 8, 2024, at the age of 42.
Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment official statement re: the passing of Adan Canto:
“We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Adan Canto. A wonderful actor and dear friend, we were honored to have him as part of the Warner Bros. Television and FOX Entertainment families since his U.S. debut in The Following more than a decade ago. Most recently, he lit up the screen in The Cleaning Lady with a powerful performance that showcased his artistry, range, depth and vulnerability. This is an unfathomable loss, and we grieve alongside his wife Stephanie, their children and loved ones. We will miss Adan dearly.”
Adan Canto, Born in Mexico and raised in Texas, Adan Canto is a skilled and versatile actor. Most recently, he starred for three seasons in the hit political drama “Designated Survivor,” opposite Kiefer Sutherland. He also appeared in the critically acclaimed streaming series “Narcos,” alongside Wagner Moura, and in the hit series “The Following,” for FOX. Recently, Canto starred opposite Mel Gibson in the film “The Agent Game,” and co-starred in Halle Berry’s directorial debut, “Bruised,” which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival. Prior to that, he appeared in “X-Men: Days of Future Past.” Canto recently directed his first short film, a thought-provoking western, starring Theo Rossi, currently on the festival circuit. He also is a singer and guitarist.
