Vanessa Delgado | 2023 Latina of Influence

We are pleased to announce that Vanessa Delgado, founder and Managing Partner of Azure Development and Chair the South Coast Air Quality Management District’s board has been selected as a Hispanic Lifestyle 2023 Latina of Influence. Ms. Delgado will be recognized for her leadership in our community during Hispanic Lifestyle’s Connecting Latinas of Influence – Los Angeles event on September 14, 2023.

Vanessa is the daughter of Mexican immigrants and grew up in Boyle Heights. She received her undergraduate education at Stanford University and graduated with honors. She then completed a Master of Public Administration at USC as a Dean’s Fellow.

She began her career in public service working for the cities of Pico Rivera, Anaheim, and Downey, in Economic Development. Vanessa also spent eleven years as the Director of Development for Primestor Development building shopping centers. Ms. Delgado is now the founder and President of Azure Development. Azure creates, designs, and builds exceptional housing communities and commercial projects in California. 

Vanessa pursued her passion for public service work and was elected to the City Council of the City of Montebello in November 2015. In 2018, she was elected to serve as a State Senator for District 32 and completed a short-term. Senator (Ret.) Vanessa Delgado was appointed to the South Coast AQMD Governing Board in May 2019 and currently serves as Vice Chair.  She is looking forward to advancing air quality goals for the region.
